Savory Mushroom Muffin Recipe

I am sure you have tried sweet chocolate muffins. These muffins are a different kind which are savory with mushroom fillings, so I call them savory mushroom muffins. With lotus shaped muffins are made with pastry sheets and mushroom fillings. These muffins can be enjoyed as a snack or an appetizer. It can be your weekend cooking project or weekday snacks.

This will be the best savory mushroom muffin you would ever make and try.



Mushroom – 10 oz

Onion – 1/2 medium

Green chili – 1 small

Garlic – 2 cloves

Black pepper – 1/2 tsp

Cream cheese – 2 oz

Oil – 2 tbsp

Egg – 1

Salt to taste

  1. Add oil to a pan. Once the oil is warm, add chopped onion and stir fry until light brown over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and fry for 1 more minute.
  3. Now add mushroom to the pan and fr for 3-5 minutes or until water evaporates.
  4. Add salt and pepper along with chopped green chili and fry for 2 mins.
  5. Transfer to a bowl and set it aside for 5 mins, to cool down.
  6. After 5 mins, add cream cheese to the muffin fillings and mix very well.
  7. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Oil brush the muffin pan.
  9. Cut the pastry sheet into 9 sections, as shown in the recipe video.
  10. Place each pastry cuts into the muffin tray cup.
  11. Add earlier prepared muffin fillings – 1 scoop into each.
  12. Egg brush the top of the muffins. 
  13. The oven should be ready by now, time to bake for 17 mins.
  14. Serve and enjoy!
