Bhatmas Sadeko Recipe | Soybean Salsa

I am presenting you all with an authentic Nepali appetizer known as bhatmas sadeko aka soybean salsa. Bhatmas sadeko is mainly popular within the Newari community in Nepal but loved and admired by all the Nepalese people living around the world. Since this recipe is simple and quick, anyone can make this bhatmas sadeko recipe at your home.

Ingredients:

 

Soybean (bhatmas) – 1/2 cup

Hot water – to soak soyabean

Oil – to deep fry

Onion – 1/2 slice chopped

Ginger – 1/4 inch thick chopped

Lemon – 1/2 slice

Garlic – 2 chopped

Tomato – 1/2 slice

Green chili – 2 small chopped

Cilantro – 1/3 cup

Red chili powder – 1.5 tsp

Chat masala – 1 tsp

Salt to taste

Instructions:
  1. Soak bhatmas (soybean) overnight or for 4-5 hours with hot water.
  2. Stain the soaked soybean and let it dry on a paper towel for half an hour. 
  3. Heat oil and deep-fry dried soybean for 8-10 mins or until light brown.
  4. Set it aside until it is completely cooled off.
  5. Add soybean to a bowl and add the ingredients listed within the ingredients section above.
  6. Serve and enjoy just like that or with cheura.
