Pakoda Ingredients:
Pakoda Ingredients
Moong dal – 1/2 cup
Green chili – 1 large
Curry leaves – 5 to 7
Cilantro – 1/2 cup chopped
Ginger – 1/2 slice (1/4″ thick)
Onion – 1/2 large
Rice flour – 2 tbsp
Besan flour – 3 tbsp
Garlic – 2 cloves
Chat masala – 1.5 tsp
Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Hing powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Pakoda Achar (Chutney) Ingredients
Mint leaves – 10 to 12
Green chili – 4 small
Lemon – 1/2 slice
Garlic – 2 cloves
Yogurt – 3 tbsp
Cilantro – 1 cup chopped
Salt to taste
Pakoda Instructions:
- Soak moong dal for 2 hours and rinse.
- In a food processor, mix moong dal to make a coarse mixture.
- Transfer to a bigger bowl and add all the pakoda ingredients listed within “Pakoda Ingredients” above.
- Mix pakoda ingredients very well and set it aside for 15 mins.
- Heat oil over medium heat.
- Make small-sized balls and fry them until golden brown. Usually frying for 5-6 mins cooks well. Cook in batches do not overcrowd.
- Serve with a cup of tea or green chili achar (chutney).
Achar (Chutney) Instructions:
- In a food processor, add all the ingredients listed within the “Pakoda Achar (Chutney) Ingredients” section above. Mix well to make a sauce-like paste
- Transfer to a small bowl.
- Enjoy with pakoda!
