Simple Fried Sardines Fish Recipe | Malekhu ko Machha | Spicy Masala Fried Fish

This is a recipe that only needs minimal prep time while giving a maximum flavor and personally I think this is the best way to prepare sardines that tastes good. These fried sardine fish are easy to make and for sure taste delicious. Honestly, you do not need to travel to Malekhu, a small town in Nepal 😉 to try Malekhu ko Machha (Fried Sardines). These are the perfect appetizers for your next party that you are planning to host or try as a snack for your family.

Ingredients:

Small fish

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

2 tsp chili powder

salt to taste

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp garam masala

1 tsp garlic powder

 1/2 cup gram flour (besan)

1 egg

2 tbsp lemon juice

1/4 cup water

vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Instructions:
  1. Whisk 1 egg in a medium-size bowl. (optional)
  2. Add all the dry spices, flour, lemon juice, and water. Whisk until no lumps.
  3. Add fish and mix it well. Keep it aside for 30 minutes covered.
  4. On a wide wok or pan add enough oil for deep frying.
  5.  Fry fish in a batch. Stir-fry for 8-9 minutes on each side and repeat.
  6. Transfer to a paper towel plate. Enjoy with your favorite hot sauce.
